My throat is so swollen and sore?

i dont kno whats wrong, i had my tonsils out when i was three years old, ive never had strep in my life.. right now it hurts so bad to swallow, my throat is just so swollen, it looks really red and i dont have a fever, sneeze or anything, i just cough when i open my mouth to look at it cuz it hurts so much. my body aches a bit and i have a little bit of vertigo when i move fast... does anyone know whats up with me?

GET TO A DOCTOR! Tonsils can grow back so don't rule out tonsillitis.

Obviously there is a good chance you have some kind of virus it is the beginning of that season, but it could also be from smoke inhalation, a couple of months ago I had the worst sore throat of my life and I thought I had strep but it was just because of the amount of smoke in the air because we had alot of fires this summer in my area. Try gargling with warm salt water.

If this has come on suddenly, you may be having an allergic reaction to something and you need to get treated by a Dr. Call 911 if you begin to have any difficulty breathing or chest pain.

sip tea with honey and lemon juice. not the fastest, or most helpful, but it might make your throat feel a little better. If it doesn't go away, it's time to go to the doctor! They know whats best. Get better soon!

Looks like a throat infection to me. You should see a doctor. Get some syrup for your throat. Don't worry it'll go away later. Nothing life threatning. :)

I dont really know whats wrong with you but you should go to a doctor and get it looked at its no good coming on here because people might be telling you wrong information and it might not get ttreated properly. The doctor is the best idea and they will have it treated properly and it will go away soon enough :-)

If you start to get fatigue it may be mono.  I could not swallow at all without pain, major vertigo, and I fell asleep at inappropriate times

if your throat is swollen, it will be hard to breathe, and you may suffocate

You may be starting the flu, or you may very well have strep in which case you need an antibiotic. If you're feeling this bad see the doctor. In the mean time gargle with some warm salt water, take some ibuprofen and suck on cough drops.
