  1. Go back and see your doctor or surgeon. I had a friend who was feeling ok after a week of having tonsils out but a large clot had formed and nearly choked her to death. You may have an infection or something was missed in the operation. GO BACK NOW!!!

  2. That was the worst surgery I have ever had!  I could barely talk a week after having mine out and I lost a ton of weight because I found that the only thing that didn't feel like it was acid on my throat were banana popsicles.  You should be seeing your doctor again soon for post op appt.  Make sure you let him/her know.  It does get better, eventually.

  3. Definitely see a dr. to make sure nothing unusual is happening.  My friend just had her tonsils removed. She said she started drinking tea with a lot of honey. It helped her immensely.

  4. I'm 22 and I just had my tonsils out 6 months ago.  For the first week, I could hardly eat too. I just drank water and ate sherbet (that's all I could manage). Around the second week, I started eating a little bit more like mashed potatos, mac n' cheese or applesauce. But it still hurt! Nearing the end of the 2nd week I ate some more normal food like pizza or a burger but I had to take tiny bites and chew it up real good so I didnt choke. I was able to eat normal 3 weeks after my surgery and not have any pain whatsoever. I think the recovery rate takes longer depending how old you are. My doctor said my recovery rate was normal for my age. Hope this helps! Feel better!
