My ti-83 is acting up?

one day it has decided to froze at me at school and ever since then it has acted weird. it every now and then come up as memory clear and sometime it freezing. Yesterday when i was doing my further maths test it came up as memory clear, without realizing i forgot that it went to the default setting which is radian and i needed to be in degree mode and IT MADE ME FAIL MY TEST :@, this teaches me to check it next time. However, i want to ask is that i know that my calculator will clear the memory again and plus freezing but i was just wondering if it possible to stop it freezing and reseting or should i just buy a new one because i don't want this occur at the end of year exams.

Have you tried resetting your calculator?  That seems to fix quite a few problems.  If that doesn't work you have to seriously consider buying a new calculator I guess...  How old is the one you own?  I've had my TI-84 for quite a while now and haven't ever had any issues with it...

I hope resetting fixes thing, if not I guess you will have to seriously consider buying a new one...
