  1. just keep playing it all the time and you will be timed well

  2. You have to slow down and make contact first. If you watch the bigs when the guy is slumping they start back by hitting the ball to the opposite field. When they do the coach or announcer always says he is getting his swing back. This is because they are instructed to slow their swing down and make contact first to get their timming back. You need to wait a second or two when you swing at pitches. You will first start hitting to the opposite field then up the middle and then to all fields.

  3. Practice hitting off a tee...just hit the ball up the middle and to the opposite field. When you practice work on keeping the same stride every swing and get your front foot down early. Your consistent stride will help your timing. You can even practice without a tee and just work on your stride and swing doing dry swings. The next thing to do is to go to a batting cage or face live pitching, get a good pitch to hit, start your stride and load early. I know that being out of the game for a while can make a player feel uncomfortable with his timing...adjusting to the speed of the game starts with preparation off the field.

  4. hand back and loose also go to the cages a couple times a week like I do!

  5. well as a baseball player myself what I do to get my timing ride is load my hands back when the pitcher is releasing
