  1. vibrations while driving may cause the wheel nut to loosen and so they loosen but if you lock tight the wheel nuts then they shouldn't come lose.

    hope this is help full

  2. lol i had a girlfriend with this problem before we were boyfriend/girlfriend

turns out, she didnt jack up the car first.......jack up the car then tighten them if u werent already.....if not, these other guys got it

  3. If they're alloy wheels you might need to check them every 100 miles or so a few times till they get properly seated. If they're steel wheels they might not have been tightened correctly to begin with or worse case would be the wrong wheels and they aren't seating properly on the hubs . Just check them occasionally for now .

  4. If tightening, and then re-tightening them to the proper torque hasn't solved the problem, you need to examine the wheel for over sized holes and the lug bolts for possible damage.  Sometimes when a wheel has been loose the bolt holes will wear oversize and become impossible to keep tight.  Don't wait, this could be a safety issue.

  5. Make sure you have the right lug nuts, sometimes you can tighten up lugs that are metric on a sae thread and they will loosen because they are not the right thread pitch. Also the studs could be worn out and not holding the nut like it should. If you are sure its the right lugs to the stud and you absolutely don't want to change to new lugs and studs then try red locktite. Just make sure your not the next guy who has to loosen them.

  6. well, where did u get your car from? was it a repair shop?

if it was reapir shop then i would go bak and complain, leaving a tire loose is very dangerous if it comes off, they have caused many accidents and deaths. its about a million dollar law suit for the shop, thats how serious it is..

but it looks like they werent properly installed and torqued to specs.

Ive never heard of a tire "loosen" from vibration or anything like that. once there tight and torqued they're good.

  7. it should be fastened according to the amount of torque mentioned in the car manual and with the help of a mechanic and an appropriate torque-meter.

  8. because they are not being properly torqued, they should be torqued by hand with a torque wrench to the manufacturer's spec
