My little boy had two cuts on his feet, so before his nap I put polysporin cream and bandaids on them and then socks over top, when I went to get him from his nap he was EATing one of the bandaids, he didn't swallow it, but it did have a pea sized amount of the poly sporin on it, could this hurt him? I couldnt find it anywhere on the package.

  1. I am sure it is fine, but if you want to be sure call the Poison Control Center - 1-800-222-1222.  And post this number somewhere at home for future reference.

To me, the bigger concern is the band aid.  He could possible choke on that thing.  If he is a band aid chewer, I would just use clean socks to cover feet boo boo's and leave other ones uncovered.

    Little ones provide constant excitement!!!

  2. It is ok don't panic! hehe I bet he will be fine :)

but call his doc just to be sure... I have 4 healthy kids and ohh my gosh they have gotten into and eaten some of the oddest things... itis just a part of being a little .. this may be a faze though soo lock up your meds and keep an eye out for things that may be a potential chokeing hazzard :)  hehe the best thing is that they grow out of it ;)

  3. You must now give that young'un a lecture. A lot of finger waggin' and gnashing of teeth.

And then tincture of Merthiolate! The sting of that stuff is enough to make you swear off chewing on first aid supplies.

  4. i'm sure he'll be fine but if you're really concerned you can always call  your doctor or the emergency room at your local hospital and see what they suggest. gotta love kids =)

  5. he will be fine. this is just the first of many disgusting things he will attempt to eat over the coming years.

  6. No he will be fine don't worry unless it says if ingested go to the ER.  It's such a little amount he probably swallowed anyway but if u want to make sure just call poison control that's what I did when my son ate sunscreen. They are very helpful and tell u if u should go to the hospital and what signs to look out for.

  7. All poisons or harmful products are marked so for just this reason, chances are there's no harm done, next time put jam on is band aid it is antiseptic and it tastes better.
