My son just turned 3. He is potty trained but sometimes pees in the bed at night (very seldom)..I just bought some gallons of milk at the store, usually he has NO problems with milk..But the day after i got the milk he has been pooing like crazy and EVERYNIGHT has pooed in his sleep. I wake up having to change all his clothes and clean him up. It is not diarrhea though, regular poo. He has been complaining about a tummy ache also. My 7 yr old has been complaining her tummy is hurting her too. would them having a tummy but cause him to poo in the bed? This is not normal for him at all. what could be causing these actions in him? I am taking him to the doc on monday morning. Thanks!

  1. It could be a virus of some sort. As for the pooing, you have to be awake for that.  No child is capable of doing that in their sleep. I didnt say that to be rude but I had a similar problem and the Pediatrician told me the same thing. Also since both of your children are complaining, I highly doubt they both acquired an allergy to milk. I believe the milk was bad or they have a virus. My kids get them all the time. And viruses are all different.

  2. Perhaps a fear of pooping on the toilet. I have found with my girls an ability to p**p at night when they want to be controlling about something in thier lives. and that seems to be the thing they choose!

  3. He may have become lactose intolerant, kind of like when you become allergic to something you weren't before. That probably explains the stomach aches, and when my dad has cereal (he's intolerant too so I don't know why he has cereal) he gets bad gas. So when your son gets the gas part he might have a full colon too, and being 3 he probably doesn't have enough control (in his sleep) to keep from pooing when passing wind.

  4. he may be allergic to milk. switch to soy milk, but did you know that cows milk can lead to a disease called chrons.  it would be wise to stop giving him milk and stick to soy milk.

  5. Is the milk spoiled?
