Question:

My toes are going numb?

I just had my skates rebuilt and they are much better and safer to skate in now, but I find that they are so tight that my toes are going numb. Is this something that will go away as I re-break them in? I can't really loosen them up anymore or my ankle rolls out in landings.

Also, how long does a rebuilt skate generally last?

  1. That always happen to anyone who buy/ rebuild or whatever you call it new skates. coz the shape of ur feet n the shape of ur skates are different that's why you feel lyk it's crushing ur foot. Once the shape of the `inner` skates change, it will be comfortable.

  2. When you first get your new skates they should be a bit looser rather than tighter (without your heel coming up in the boot).  They may be a bit small, and if so, you can get them stretched out a bit or if there is a specific place you need more room in, they can punch out that area.  Otherwise it may just be that it is cold in the rink!  A skate rebuilt correctly should last about as long as you have the pair of skates
