I've been using a plunger for hours (literally), and it still overflows every time I try flushing it.

Any tips on how to unclog it?

  1. You are going to need a plumbing snake, or call someone who has one (like a plumber).  It needs to be routed out.

  2. when all else fails, you'll have to take the toilet off, turn it upside down and start snaking it FROM THE BOTTOM UP to push out whatever is stuck in there.  did one of the kids put something in there? happens all the time.   the snake that has a crank handle that you can turn is usually the best for that job. $10,00 to 12 bucks maybe.

  3. Go to home depot or lowes and get a toilet snake-very inexpensive and works great. When mine was clogged I snaked out the rubber tub stopper that had fallen in and didn't even know it was missing since I take showers.

  4. put some gloves on and get the garden hose and feed that down the bowl in a stabbing motion, dont turn the hose on !.

if that dosent work call the plumber.

  5. Sounds to me like you need to go rent a plumbing snake or go purchase a cheap one at a home improvement center. very well could have a blockage in the S-Drain. You may also have a problem with the wax ring which allows the bowl to properly seat to the discharge piping.
