  1. Well first, is the floater getting hung up on the side of the tank, or second, is the water level so high that it overflows into the tube and never causes the floater to reach the height it needs to cut off?  You can adjust the water level with s***w at the end of the arm holding the floater.  If it's rubbing against the side, you can bend it slightly.  If you just can't figure it out, replace it with one of the newer types that doesn't have a floater.

  2. id go to your home hardware store and just get a kit that goes in them.

The flap could not be sealing well, or the ball could have a hole in it. Not expensive to get the kit.

  3. Check this site out, it may help.

    no =/

  5. you need a new flapper . just go buy one in put it in nothing hard about it

  6. Depends on how old your parts are.  Usually it's just a seal on the flapper at the bottom of the tank allowing water to flow into the bowl that needs replacing.

  7. Try adjusting the float at the end. This screws either way. s***w it one way and see what happens if worse s***w the other way. To replace turn off the water to the loo.

  8. could be a couple different reasons

    both are easy to fix

get a new flapper (in case water is draining by)

get a new ballcock (in case its not operating correctly

you can fix both for under $15.00

  9. new flapper...call a plumber

  10. Look inside the water tank. You should find an adjustment s***w on top of the float assembly which is on top of the fill valve unit. (This will be on the opposite end of the connector rod for the float)  Turn the s***w clockwise using a s***w driver. This will cause the fill valve to close before water in the tank begins to overflow via the safety tube in the center of the tank. If that doesn't work, simply bend the connector rod to push the float downward as needed.

  11. need a new flapper

  12. Just readjust the 'floater' linkage to give it more purchase

    at the valve.

You might bend a rod, or move a clip on a sliding vertical

rod depending on the type of valve.

There might be an adjusting s***w.

  13. You only need a new flapper

  14. go to store and get a fluidmaster 400 fillvalve. directions on box. 10 minute job

  15. The toilets in my house have always done something like that, and like you say, you just have to lift the floater. I'm sure it'll stop at some point; it always does with mine. If not, call a plumber? Or see who suggests what on here (:

  16. NO you can adjust the floater.s***w it in or out to adjust it. Look at what type of floater the toilet has,if it has a ball float s***w it in or out to adjust it,if it has a float the rises and falls on the float assembly on the top there is a s***w,s***w it in or out to adjust.  Good Luck

  17. Nope just adjust the float some have a plastic s***w at the hinge end and some you just have to bend if its metal.
