Question:

My tomato plants have a powdery rot on them?

Its like a grey dust that comes off them when i pick off the dead bits.

what is it and what can i do about it.? i think it is down to the rainy summer we've had.? i've taken them out of the greenhouse.

  1. Sounds like powdery mildew. You'll have to burn the affected ones I'm afraid. Once you've got that stuff it gets everywhere.

    It's caused by lack of ventilation in humid conditions, especially where plants are too close together. Leave the greenhouse door open more and thin out the plants.
