My tooth bonding chipped?

i got a tooth bonding and half of it chipped of...i dont want it on my tooth anymore. can my dentist just take it off and smooth out my tooth or will i have to get a cap?

  1. You may need a crown,depending on how far the chip is on the tooth. If its a small chip then you should be ok.


  2. If it is a front tooth I can tell you that the bonding doesn't hold well there because of the amount of pressure exerted on the front teeth when you bite into something. If you have tried repeatedly to repair that tooth with a filling then you may have to resort to getting a crown
