My tooth hurts bad already took some medicane any ideas

my tooth is chiped the one that hurts and we already got an appointmant setb up but its like in 2months are somtehing

hi im a dental nurse of 3 years a sore tooth could mean alot of things if its a wisdom tooth more then likley you dont have enough room for it, if its any other tooth more then likley its a hole the thing is holes dont just go away if you see a dentist quickly it can be filled but leave it for to long they decay gets deeper killing the nerve of the tooth which means 2 options are left to take it out or root canal therapy which is around $400 so id see a dentist asap

Why don't you try to go to other dentist that can set early appointment than 2mos?

Don't eat or chew to where it is hurt, don't drink cold water too...

Go to your hospital ER.  They will give you pain meds for it.

If you are in pain I'd call the dentist back and tell them it's an emergency. In this case they'd probably see you immediately or at least within a day or so.

If they can't accommodate you earlier call till you find a dentist who will take you immediately. It does work.

If there is no way you can consult a dentist, and you are really in pain, the best pain killers are ibuprofen based (Advil or Motrin), you can take two pills (of 200 mg) every four hours.

Also a trick if you have a bad tooth ache is not to lay down your head because doing so would make the blood go to your head and increase the pain. It would be best if you sit instead of laying down.
