My topsheet cracked after 1 day of riding.....WTF!!?!?

So i bought a new 08 forum destroyer off ebay. I took it up to grouse mountain and rode it this last saturday, didnt punish it much at all really. Next day i noticed the topsheet on my board was cracked from the toeside all the way across to the heelside about a foot down from the tail. All i was really doing was some simple jibs on boxes and rails and on the way down to the lift i'd do some nollie to tail presses. You can probably imagine how choked i am....

I rode it again the day after just normally no rails or anything and It doesnt look like the crack goes past the fiberglass topsheet so the core looks fine. Think this is anything to worry about and does anyone have any experience with forum and board warranties?

I also saw something online about how really glossy topsheets cracking easy and it just being cosmetic damage.Anyone able to vouch for this?

  1. Try emailing the dude who you bought it off of from ebay. If its actually a board shop that is an authorized dealer they can probably hook you up with a receipt and then forum should be able to take care of it

  2. Ive got an older Burton with the same issue.  I didnt worry about it too much because i was getting ready to buy a new board anyway.  It never caused problems with de-lam or anything like that, just cosmetic.  That board had a clear top-coat, and Ive heard its common for that to happen.  I also do alot of nose and tail presses, and thats where its cracking.  If its new, I would try to get it replaced, but not sure how thats gonna work out since you got it off of ebay.  But if you cant replace it, i wouldnt worry too much about it, but yours may be more severe than mine, so i would probably explore your options.

  3. Contact forum directly,,  or burton as they bought forum, and explain the situation, if that doesn't work just bring it to the local snowboard tuning shop and have them put some type of turbo adhesive in there to secure it down. But that sucks bro..  No more snowboards off ebay

  4. I dont know if the warranty is still valid because you bought it on ebay. What I would do is contact forum, and let them know what happened. This happened to my friends brand new acadamey, he contacted them and just had to send it in and they shipped him a brand new board the next day. It may not be that big of a deal depending on how deep it is, the last thing you want though is for it to delaminate from the moisture getting in there, or even worse completely break off while you are on a rail or hitting a kicker.
