She is a greek Spur thigh tortoise. She has had a brown spotted tongue and beak for around four days, she seems healthy and is walking around and eating okay, does any one know what this could be?

  1. I agree with fruit cake.  It sounds like it could be the start of mouth rot.  The vet can treat this, probably with diluted betadine or something similar.

    Good Luck

  2. i would get it checked out, a tortoise should have a nice healthy pink colour inside their mouth it is possible it could be the start of something but to be honest with out a picture i am not sure, it is always better to get small things checked so they don't turn into something big, with tortoises the sooner you notice something not right the easier it is to treat, hope all goes well with your tortoise honey

  3. If its something you've never seen before then it might be worth taking her to a vet. Does she spend a lot of time in the sun? As torts can sometimes change colour when exposed to large amounts of it.
