My trasmission is acting up?

Question

I have a 1975 Buick Skylark S/R and it have the 350 in it with the turbo trasmission on the console and when i drive it doesnt knock or jerk i dont leak fluid much and when I go to take off i have to almost floor it to get it moving. but the car does fine once its moving. Its someting with the tranny I just dont have the money for a new one does anyone have any ideas on some fixes with out replacing the transmission, It sucks cause I dont feel the power cause it takes off so slow. Is there anything I can do to fix the problem and also the spedometer doesnt work and I replaced the cable for it twice I need help please
