  1. Use the High Mileage and maybe switch to a 5W-30

  2. royal purple hands down

  3. I use Shell's Rotella T multi-grade motor oil, have since the '70's, in every engine I own... including my lawnmower. Rotella is a high viscosity, high temperature, high detergent oil that is rated for gasoline as well as diesel engines.

I have a 1983 GMC 4X4 with somewhere over 200,000 miles (speedometer broke a long time ago). Recently, I had to replace the pan gasket, and while I had the pan off I checked for bearing wear and also for sludge build-up. The sludge was only in the corners of the pan where the oil doesn't circulate very well and the bearings were almost like new.

As a fleet owner, I traded in a semi every 300,000 miles or three years, so I never got a chance to run one long enough to see how many miles I could put on an engine before it broke down due to oil failure.

One thing...be sure to change the oil filter EVERY time you change oil.

  4. i would switch over to gastrol gtx 10w-40 high mileage this should help u
