I have an Indesit tumble dryer which won't work. It physically has power going to it and heats up, but the drum wont spin. Any help GREATLY appreciated as I am going on holiday and need to get all the washing, drying and packing done asap.

  1. I had an indesit with a faulty door switch could be a number of things though......good luck.

  2. there is a belt that controls the drum so the belt might be broken might cost about 20 bucks or so

  3. The belt probably came off or the motor burned out.

  4. kick it

  5. Can you hear the motor running? If yes, then the drive belt may have snapped. If not,the motor may have given up,or there is a loose connection in the wiring. Take top of dryer off to check the drive belt.To check motor, put dryer on it's side. You will be able to check some of the wiring when the top is off as well.

  6. indesit is just a hotpoint with a different facia. the drive belts have a habit of slipping off the pulley. if so just pop it back on.
