First they would take a very long time to click, then they would stay on, but not flash. Now my turn signals wont even come on. I checked the fuse, my dad said it looked okay, but it had little zigzags in it. My dad says its the flasher. If you know anythign about this please help. My car is a 93 Chrysler LaBaron. Also im an 18 year old girl, so please explain yourself, i'm not very good with cars. Thanks in advance!

  1. your fuse is going out, change your fuse. look for the fuse box ussaully under your dashboard

  2. The turn signal will stop blinking if a bulb goes out.  If the fuse has a zigzag in it, it's good.  Usually when they go, the metal melts and the fuse turns black.  While it is possible the flasher isn't working, check the bulbs by turning on the turn signal and walking around the appropriate side of the car. Repeat for other side.  The bulb that is not on is out.   If all bulbs are on, then the flasher needs replaced.

  3. you have 3 areas where you may have a problem. the fuse, which the little zigzag is the part designed to break if the fuse blows. if the zigzag is intact, the fuse is good.

also your flasher, which controls the on/off blinking of the turn signals, could be bad.

3rd, your turn signal switch itself may be bad. it is inside the steering column and the handle that your use to turn the signals on and off sticks out of that switch. if that electrical part is bad, it will give you the effects your are experiencing.

i suggest investing in a repair manual for your vehicle in addition to asking questions at your local parts store, then find these items and systematically check them and replace as needed. hope this helps

  4. it is the multifunction switch..

  5. Check and see if you have a turn-signal light out - one of the blinker lights on the outside. Sometimes that makes the turn signal flash slower or faster.

If it's the flasher, it's pretty easy to replace. Leave your dad at home, and go to an auto parts store, and tell one of the men there what's wrong. There's a pretty good chance they'll sell you the right part, and then go outside and install it for you. That's worked for my sister... <g>
