  1. As long as you are taking good care of him by providing the necessary food and habitat, I wouldn't worry about his growth.  Perhaps the turtle had a parasite when he was young which may have prevented his growth.  This often happens when turtles are kept in captivity. If he is eating well, swimming, and basking that's what's important.

  2. Ok well first lets see if you have the right setup for the turtle first. If you have a 10 gallon you definatly have to upgrade to at least a 50 gallon( you have to because your turtle will grow!) The tank should be filled up at least halfway, the more water, the better! On top of the water you need to put a floating turtle dock. Then you put a mesh lid, you cut a circle out of it, you then put a basking light on top, so it warms up the basking place to around 85-90F, use a thermometer to tell. Then you put a uvb light ( reptosun 5.0 is best) over the basking place, so he gets uva AND uvb when basking( this is very important!) the water temp needs to be at 78-82F, this can happen if you buy a water heater. You shouldnt use substrate, because the turtle can swallow pebbles and die. It is important that you also have a water filter to claen the water!- And you also have to do weekly cleanings. The turtle needs all of these things to be happy. You should feed him reptomin pellets, crickets, shrimp, mealworms, bloodworms, krill, and some veggies. All of the food should be powdered with a reptile calcium supplement, such as reptocal and reptivite, they also have vitaminn a and d which is inportant for his health. Turtles grow bigger over years, so i dont think you will notice change immediatly, but with this setup, and the foods that you feed him he is garenteed to be healthy.

  3. My turtles head is poking out I better get to the toilet.

  4. 10 months is a long time but when baby turtles grow its hard to notice if it got bigger measure it now and record it then measure it a couple of months later see if their is a difference in size if so it is growing if its not bring it to the vet

  5. take him to the vet.  he'll check your turtle for you.

  6. Turtles are slow growers, if you are too worried take him to get a check up.
