  1. It looks like it has an eye infection..you need to see a vet for treatment, or eventually it will die.

  2. looks like its bout to pop idk do some research or call a vet

  3. whoa! ive never seen that before! when i first got my 2 res, one had a closed/puffy eye. i bought turtle eye drops, which did nothing. i later found out that he had a vitamin a deficiancy, but i fixed it with this food i got him.

i think the food was called turtle yummies, but all i remembered is that it smelled really bad. apparently this had the necessary vitamins the turtle needed, and his eye problem went away

  4. I think peek is on the right track but fruits and vegetables are poor sources of vitamin A (in general), which is an oil-soluble vitamin. Besides, those are for adult turtles. Babies are carnivores Cut strips of liver and try that. Just in case there are infections in both eyes, you might try dripping a boric acid solution over them..

  5. i have 2 turtles and one of them had

gotten his eyes swollen and he couldnt open them..

but his eyes werent black. any way i did research

and my turtle needed more sun and stuff and it also

said u should put the turtle in warm water and it

will start rubbing its eyes and trying little by little

opening them... but, it could be something else

  6. Unless its swollen eyes syndrome, it needs vitamin A. Keep water at 79 degrees.

I have never seen black eyes.

Vitamin A  comes from vegetable  and fruits like Tomatoes

    Cantaloupes Watermelon Peaches Kiwi

Oranges Blackberries Sweet potato Kale Carrots

    Spinach Avocado Broccoli Peas Asparagus

    Squash - summer , strawberries.

Peas .  Get some baby food lie peas or squash and put it on his beak.mouth and maybe he will like it off. Vitamins are so important for us all.

Did you know that they need to bask under a reptile light UVA for 8 to 10 hrs a day for the vitamin D that they need to grow. So that means getting a turtle dock also.  Leave the heater on 75 to 78 degrees always.

Their water needs to be clean otherwise they get sick easily from dirty water cause they p**p allot.

You need a good filter system! Gravel larger than they can swallow. They need a large tank to start.

You need to feed them feeder guppies, goldfish or minnows for protein and calcium daily drop 20 or so in the tanks and watch them disappear! This way when they swim for their dinner they get exercise also!

TOSS in a bird cuttle bone in the water for calcium. it will dissolve real slow and if they eat it that’s fine!!

They can have garden worm, meal worms, crickets, flies, crayfish and  anything that moves!

They need leafy greens Romaine, Butter lettuce. (Iceberg and cabbage are bad for them, any other leafy greens will do) for vitamin A that they need at least 3 to 4 times a week.

You probably already know that they get sick easily, shell rot, respiratory sickness, lopsided swimming, coughing, blowing bubbles, Swollen cloudy eyes means lacking in Vitamin A. Which we all need for good eyes. Google ‘vegetables with Vitamin A.

    I wish you luck.
