  1. It's normal, I've seen it before. Though, do A TON of research. Hatching a turtle from an egg, in captivity, is probably one of the toughest tasks there is. I myself have tried twice, when I had turtles (with no luck), and I know of a public library that even had professional help, and failed at least 3 times. At the moment though, go and get a light to put right over the egg to keep it warm, until you can figure out a more permanent and better fixture.

And remember, do a lot of research! I would also get a hold of a turtle breeder, perhaps someone at your local zoo.

Oh and, I'm completely assuming in this answer that your intent is to hatch it. So yeah. Keep in mind that females carry eggs for years, and they may not even be fertilized.

Anyway, with whatever the circumstances, good luck!

  2. You probably have a chinese turtle.

  3. It's perfectly normal.

Sometimes turtles lay more than one egg, but usually not more than 3 at a time.

  4. Wow really one egg man that is so cool. Call the kinnes book of records man. You did it with your turtle.

:) always better then no egg

  5. Congrats you have a grandchild now!It is perfectly normal for a turtle to lay one egg.It could be a Chinese turtle.Don't worry your turtle and the egg will be just fine.
