Question:

My turtle is biting. What can I do to stop this?

I know this is all my fault. I used to hand-feed her but I stopped like 2 days ago because I read that the it can associate your finger with food and so it will bite.

However, I don't like it that it bites me whenever she sees my finger. My turtle is a yellow bellied slider, which is aquatic. What can I do to stop her from biting?

Thanks a lot :)

  1. Stop waving your fingers in front of its face, and feed it more. It's hungry.

Aquatic turtles often have a strong feeding response.

  2. just drop her feeder fish in the tank with leafy lettuce and you don't have to get bit, cause it hurts. It's like a mini pitt bull attached to your finger. And leave a nasty V shaped cut..
