  1. i just got my turtle about 2 months ago and i had sorta the same problem from him having too much stress...what i did was took him out and put a food pellet in front of his mouth, and eventually he took it, but he only eats in the water, so make sure that you're feeding it in the water.

    -hope this helped

  2. Are you feeding fish? You need to feed them feeder guppies, goldfish or minnows for protein and calcium daily drop 20 or so in the tanks and watch them disappear in a few days!

This way when they swim for their dinner they get exercise also!

Also get some baby squash or peas and rub on his mouth. Don't pry his mouth open just put some on his mouth. This has vitamins in it.  Google Vitamin A foods and see what youi have in the house.

TOSS in a bird cuttle bone in the water for calciumIts pure calcium and they need that for shell growth.  it will dissolve real slow and if they eat it that’s fine!!

They sleep at the bottom of rivers, streams. lakes or ponds or your tank to avoid predators like coyotes,  foxes, owls, hawks, possums, raccoons and even some wide mouth bass.

and leafy greens? They need leafy greens Romaine, Butter lettuce. (Iceberg and cabbage are bad for them, any other leafy greens will do) for vitamin A that they need at least 3 to 4 times a week.

You probably already know that they get sick easily, shell rot, respiratory sickness, lopsided swimming, coughing, blowing bubbles from their nose, Swollen cloudy eyes means lacking in Vitamin A. Which we all need for good eyes. Google ‘vegetables with Vitamin A.

  3. I've had the same problem i think your turtle is hibernating make the water temperate hotter and he'll be ok

  4. It is frequently the case that turtles won't eat for a week or two when placed in a new home. If this continues, tempt it with a small earthworm placed some distance away from it, so that the earthworm doesn't frighten the turtle. Other good live foods are fishes (not goldfish) and soft-bodied insects. When you can't get live food, cut strips of liver and dust them with bone meal.

  5. I don't know but maybe it's not hungry. It will eat eventually when it gets hungry enough.I found a baby turtle on the street.I didn't have to buy mine.Have you  tired carrots and bananas?I heard that they like fruit.

  6. check your water temp. If the turtle is too cold he will stop eating. I don't know your turtles species so I can't tell you exactly what temp it should be, you will have to look it up for your specific turtle. If that doesn't help he will need to see a vet.

  7. I have pretty much agree with everybody else...Check the water temp....Also you can may get a low watt heat bulb...Make sure to keep the water clean...Hope it works out for you...
