My tv isn't working!!!?

Question

So, tonight i go and turn on my tv and the remote won't work, so i thought it was the batteries, so i put new batteries. I then am able to turn on the tv and i go to change the channel and have to really push down on the button, but then the tv just starts rapidly going through all the channels and it won't stop. I can't get anything to work. I have already tried to unplug the tv, rechange the batteries, and i even called the 1-800 # and they had no idea what was the matter. So, somebody please help, i have no idea what to do.

Hi daisy how you can check your remote. Is with a radio that has long wave just switch on the radio and hold the remote up to it and press any button on the remote you should hear a loud signal coming across. If this works there is nothing wrong with your remote the problem regards the channels moving up or down by themselves is because the button may be suck in. Hope this will help dave.
