Hee hee.  Either someone is pranking you, or you have a source of IR that's turning up the TV from another remote.

Have you tried covering up the IR port on the TV?  Does the volume still go up?

a button is stuck on the remote or front of the TV that is causing the problem most of the time. Try taking the batteries out of the remote and use the tv by the front for a hour or so, also unplug the TV for 1/2 hour and try again.

try changing the batteries in the remote.

Or get up.

Then call your cable or whatever company, they can give you a new one.

go to the tv settings and look for something called "Startup Volume". this needs to be set to a lower volume.
