My tv..............?

Yesterday I got dish network installed and they hooked it up to my LG HDTV and when I tried changing the channel there is no picture, just streaks and blue, green, and red specks. Could it had fried my television or can I possibly fix this? I called dish network and did everything they told me to do and they kept saying that they've never heard of anything like that and that it's probably my tv. But it was fine until they hooked up the dish.

  1. Sounds like a bad box to me. You can try playing a dvd and if the TV is ok with that, then it's not the tv. I'd have the installer come back and fix the problem.

  2. DID YOU CHANGE THE CHANNEL ON THE TV OR THE BOX. ALSO DO YOU HAVE ANY OTHER THINGS HOOKED UP OR POWERED ON LIKE A VCR OR DVD PLAYER? THE CONNECTIONS COULD BE WRONG. DID THE TECHNICIAN CHECK THE PICTURE AND EQUIPMENT BEFORE HE LEFT. AFTER CHECKING ALL THESE THINGS IF IT IT STILL NOT WORKING PROPERLY REQUEST THAT THEY RETURN AND FIX THE PROBLEM. ALSO MAKE SURE THAT NOTHING IS BLOCKING SIGNAL TO THE DISH.

  3. 1. When they hooked it up yesterday, was it working when the tech was there?

2.How is it hooked up from the receiver? HDMI, COMPONENT CABLES ,COAX?

    3. You need to call the people that put it in , in the first place as the tech that put it in, should not get payed from his place unless it is a full install. look at your work order and see if it says install complete, or something to that effect. If it does you will need to get them on the phone And stress to them that your system was not installed properly.

4.It also sounds like the picture is pix elating real bad, which means that when the signal is coming down from the satellite, that it is a real HIGH signal or a real WEAK signal. do you know if they had to put an amp somewhere, to boost the signal? techs seem to think that amps are a cure all fix solution. when in fact it could be something as too many connectors on one splitter

5.either way the place that installed your system for you should have insurance. either the place itself, or the guy that installed it should have insurance if he is 1099 it, don't let them give you the run around.

    6. also you could have cloud cover in the area, when you turned on the system, when i got dish 7 yrs ago it was horrible the picture was always cutting out with just afew clouds in the sky even with just a light rain going on. so when it was really raining hard you knew for sure no to turn the tv on cause there was gonna be no picture. after about 3 months of that i switched back to cable and sold my dish equipment, because back then you had to buy it, i don't know about now how that works.

    7. I don't know how THEY have never heard of a system or tv doing that before.
