My tv won't switch back on...can please somebody...

Product: PROTECH TV PTV-5536i was watching tv yesterday when it suddenly turned off! i tried to switch it back on with the remote but it won't! instead, there's this blinking sound on the tv like it was a sound of a timer or something...i tried to switch it on and off manually but it won't do anything and there's still the sound...would somebody know what's the sound all about and why my tv won't switch back on??i'll appreciate all the suggestions and help that i could get...
