i have two fantail gold fishes which were with me for 2 years and i recently just got a new bigger tank and purchased two new other gold fishes. A few days later the one (new) fish died, and the same afternoon the other (new) fish died too! And one of my (old) fishes is now not moving and not eating. So I transfered them back to the previous smaller tank. And the sick fish is now sitting on the ground not moving at all and letting the water move it back and forth, not eating. It is still breathing and the other goldfish is now looking dull. what can i do to help?

  1. Gold fish love and need cold water and they need clean running water to start. The new tank you purchased probably had some chemical in it from the factory and the new fish being stress out died from this. The bacteria caused by the new fish and from the new tank transferred from them to the old fish and now you have a bacteria problem. Marricyn II or try adding air bubbles with foliage for them to eat. Goldfish love to eat the green stuff and also try looking for drops for goldfish.   Not sure what the name of it is but they sell it at pet shops and garden stores for pond fish. take the new tank and rinse it out thoroughly with strait warm and then cold tap water and use stress coat  and conditioner both in the water to balance the ph out. I would get a book on Goldfish and use this as a reference.  Good luck let me know if I can help more...

  2. flush em down the toilet, they wont remember

  3. Put any newcomers in quarantine to check for illness from experience loads of shop fish come with diseases unfortunately.

And keep water fresh after it has sat for a while to lose any traces of chlorine.

  4. this could because of the stress of the new move or new fish, the other fish may have brought something "home" with them and transmitted it to your other healthy fish. Waters PH could have been out of whack, many reasons. There isn't much you can do but make sure the tank is in proper conditions maybe isolate the fish from one another for the time being. Hope your fishys make it! Good luck!

  5. there isnt really much you can do for sick fish, when they are dying you cant really stop it. still, 2 years is a long time for a fish. my vet told me to not flush them down the toilet, but to let them die in a humane way is to fill up a plastic zip lock bag with water and put the dying fish in that. and this will sound stupid but u put it in the freezer and what happens is they go into hybernation but never wake up. they just kinda go to sleep. then you can chuck them out or whatever. i know how crazy it sounds but i do that to my fish when they're dying.

  6. @ walmart they have a fish first-aid packet that you pour in the water my friend used it and said it worked so i guess it wouldnt hurt to try it

  7. right what ever the new fishes had (infection/ diseases) they obviously passed it on. you need to get medication for them asap. you have the treat the whole tank before its too late. until you get your medication what i did was treated the water and i also added a tea spoon of salt which kills the bad bacteria.

links at the bottom are products which you can purchase.

  8. You can't do nothing its sick and its going to die tonight
