My two turtles basking ?

i got 2 mississippi map turtles and forgot they needed a basking light and i only have a Aquariums light that keeps my tank at the right heat but how long should my turtles be with out a basking light? will they die?

they need a basking light AND UV light have u got a UV light in there. if its warm enough they will be fine for about a week without UV after that it slowly starts to ware on them then develops into a serious problem then kills them. a basking light just help them warm up there bodies if they need it an will be ok without one for a while but it will eventually turn into a health issue because they can regulate there body temps correctly for things like digestion

The turtles need heat for their basking spot. This can be provided with an incandescent bulb. A UV light will allow the turtle to manufacture its own vitamin D. Your built-in light may be sufficient or not. You can also feed vitamin D. Good sources are cod-liver oil, Linatone, and liver.

Your turtles will die but I trust that it will not be for a long time.
