My two year old cut his lip from falling?

He slipped and fell pretty hard on the floor face first. His mouth bled a little and now his top lip is swollen. Please any advice?! Any similar situations w/ ur little one?

Ice!!!!Yes with 3 kids its all happened. If you dont want it to be swollen tomorrow give him an ice pop or a baggy with ice in it.

I have a son that will be 2 next month.  He's kind of a rough child...he's always falling and getting bumps and scrapes - people must think we beat him.  Anyways, I know its traumatic when your kids get hurt, but it will happen a lot...trust me.  You'll learn to take it all in stride.  Its hard to get a 2 year old to put ice on their lip, trying giving him a popsicle or a frozen teething toy.  Good news is, lips heal really fast and he should be healed up in a couple of days.

get an icepak and see if that works..

other then that i have no clue if u took him to the doctors they cant do anything about the swelling, so they would probably just give him some ice...

It's a normal reaction to a cut on the lip. As long as the bleeding has stopped then he shouldn't require any stitches. Just put some ice on it to help the swelling to go down. Do you have a boo-boo bunny? It's a washcloth in the shape of a bunny that has a hold in the middle for an ice cube. If not, just wrap ice in a washcloth and apply for a few minutes off & on for a few hours. If he isn't bothered by it he's probably fine.

My oldest was so excited to go "bye byes" last year that he didn't wait for me and fell down the front steps onto the concrete (only 3 stairs) and scratched up his nose. He bled for a little bit; I cleaned it up & kissed it and he was all better. As long as you don't get real upset about it, your child won;t. Just calmly tell him it's okay and you'll make it better.
