I was worried at first that maybe she had been touched so i had her checked out and everything is fine. But she keeps touching herself and putting her stuffed animal between her legs, and I know I am not suppose to scold her but is this something she will just out grow or what should I do to help correct it.

  1. This is something that every toddler goes through. If you go through some of the asked questions, many mothers complain about the same thing. She probably touched herself on accident and found it feels good. The stimulation of her hand and a stuffed animal feels good. Yes, she will grow out of it as she matures. Don't worry, but just tell her to do it only in her bedroom or as the first person said, in the bath. Hope this helps.

  2. I just put the television on for my 3.4 year old and when I came back into the room she was on her stomach humping her hands!!

Kids find their privates at a young age, and what they are doing is discovering themselves, they are doing what is natural, I know it looks so disturbing.

I wrote an article about this, so that other parents could check it out, I know there is not much information out there on this, but in my article I include links to some information and forums on this.

Check it out it could be very helpful.

  3. LoL I had the same problem you did I totally freaked out thinking someone has been touching her. I called my mom and she told me that, that was very normal. She's my first so I didn't know what to expect.

  4. Mine does it all the time also! Just tell her, "we do that in private, like in our bedroom or bathroom only." It is perfectly normal, they don't have the social taboos on their area like we do. All they know is this, "gee, that feels good when i do this....let's do it again!"

  5. It's normal. My 3 year old sister does it sometimes. It's like when they're 5 or 6 months old when they find their hands and feet. They're curious about their bodies. Most likely she will grow out of it. Until then encourage her not to touch herself.

  6. She'll grow out of it.  This is normal behavior for toddlers, especially when they first notice that touching themselves feels good.  Just tell her that her body is private and although it is fine for her to touch her own body there no one else should touch it.  Also let her know that their are appropriate times and/or places to touch herself and set some guidelines.

  7. I did it when i was 2 but i would hump my pillow i thought it was normal all i knew was it felt good i wanted to do it all i would say was that i was riding my horsy.
