He bit his tongue and busted his lip and has a bump on his head. He's acting okay but I'm scared that he might be hurt more than it looks.

Please don't jump on me. I was watching him, his aunt was walking right behind him and he's really good on stairs, but he tripped on his sandal..

  1. I would. Better to be safe than sorry.

Kids get hurt. That's just the way it is. I tried the bubble wrap. It's too hot. LOL (just kidding)

  2. OBVIOUSLY!!

  3. Oh, mine have gone down the stairs time and time again.  It's going to happen no matter how careful you are.  If he seems to be walking okay and can move all of his limbs w/o any trouble, he should be fine.  If he seems like he's experiencing any diziness or difficulty in moving any limbs or is very lethargic, you may want to take him in to get checked out.

  4. yes without delay.

  5. It doesn't sound like he is hurt, maybe just wait till the morning and take him to the doctors to check him out?

No-one's going to jump on you :)

    Hope hes alright x

  6. I would say just watch him, and don't let him go to sleep for awhile. if you really feel like something isn't right take him. but kids are a lot like rubber, they may not bounce but they are pretty durable.

  7. I would first examine the bump and the lip is the lip cut deeply or just like a minor scape? Is the bump weird looking, discolored, or bigger to a normal bump on the head?If so i would bring him to the doctor for the lip if it is a deep cut it might need stitches and the bump for now I strongly feel that you should put some ice on the bump in order for the swelling to go down. Well i hope he is fine and that the he will not get stitches for anything.

  8. Just take him to the doctor to get him checked out NOW. I would overreact rather than not too. By calling the advise nurse wouldn't be good enough. To be on the safe side, have the doctor check it out.

  9. Yes, take him there just to be on the safe side.

  10. yes take him immediatly

he could have internal bleeding which can be serious if not treated!

    hurry!

    best of luck xxxxxxx

  11. I would call the nurse at the hospital and ask their opinion. Most likely they will tell you to keep on him and if starts to get sleepy and lethargic to take him in then.

  12. I would call the nurse advisor line and leave a message. Most likely his doctor would want him to get checked out. Since he is young he may not know to tell you if he has other pains in areas that he doesn't know how to describe.

    Hope he is ok.

  13. Children are usually limber and many times can fall down stories and not get hurt.  The critical period is over the next 24 hours.  If he sleeps excessively, take him to the hospital.  Personally, I'd take him just to make sure, but to each his own.

  14. 15 stairs might be a good idea to have him checked out

  15. YES!! take him quickly!

  16. Well, the nurse can't rlly just assume anything without checking or seeing ur kid. I'm sure it's not ur fault, but try to be more careful in the future. If u don't wanna take him to the hospital, at least take him to his doctor or something. It doesn't look lyk nothing major now, but u never know if that little thing can affect him years later. I don't have a child, the main reason is bc im 14, but I'd take him to get a check-up at least. God Bless u and ur child, and may God bring u joy in the years to come of raising ur child. :)

  17. yes do it now, otherwise questions may be asked by snooping authorities

  18. You may not need to rush him in, but you may just want to call his doctor and see what he suggests.  Make sure to give him ibuprofen to help with swelling, and watch for any unusual behavior such as, loss of balance, unable to do normal activities, can't concentrate!  These may suggest a concussion!  Good luck and I hope you little guy feels better!

  19. OF COURSE! SEND HIM TO THE HOSPITAL NOW!!! he's only 2! even if the person was 20 it coulod still be fatal!

  20. Yes. Grab your purse and take him. There is a known fact they can look ok and feel ok but if he has a bad bump on his head he could fall asleep and never wake up because that sleepeness is the first sign of a concussion which could lead to a colma. Take him this is a emergency my mother is a OR Nurse I know this stuff. He could go into a colma.

  21. I would at least take him to an after hours clinic if at all possible if not call the doc.  You may need to take him to the hospital just in case!  GOOD LUCK!!

  22. uhhmmm i would strongly recomd that. he might have a concusinn. =[

    GOGOGOGO

  23. Yeah take him just to be safe. Poor kid... i hope he's okay.

  24. YES take him, definitley. He could have concussion, when he falls asleep he could go into a comma!! definitley take him!!!!

  25. If he fell more than 2 times his height then I would take him to the ER... JUST to make sure.  It never hurts to be safe.  Plus, he's probably going to bruise and if he goes to daycare or something they may say abuse, but if you go to the dr and have it all documented that he indeed did fall then you would be in the clear.  I'd take him just for peace of mind.

  26. Accidents happen.  I am sure you feel worse than he does so don't be too hard on yourself.

If he starts acting strangly at all - excessive crying or lack of crying, walking strangly, acting sleepy, or anything out of the normal - take him to the doctor or ER just to be safe.  Chances are he's okay, but just keep an eye on him.

  27. Oh, don;'t worry many kids fall down the stairs. He should be fine, but if you are super worried you can call you doctor, just to double check.

    But he should be fine.

  28. get him the ER asap to make sure there nothing else wrong with his head and take his aunt also so she back up your story about how he fell.

  29. yes, just to make sure there is no concussion.

  30. yes take him to the hospital now

and dont let him fall asleep cuz he could go in a coma

i no this because he may have a concussion

but u dont no it becasue kids take more time to show symptoms

and even if u dont think ther is anything wrong with him

    ur beter of being

    better safe then sorry.

    hope ur kid is OK.

  31. signs of a concussion:

a.eyes stay dilated ,put your hand over his eyes for a second,or shut lights off.lift your hand away,or turn lights back on,see if his eyes stay dilated.

b.acts as if drunk or disoriented.can't remember name ect...

i think he'll be alright.i'm not judging you at all.my kids do crazy c**p all the time in a split second, happens to everyone.but, to be safe DO NOT let him sleep for at least 6 hours(if he did have a concussion he can go into a coma)
