My daughter since she was a newborn probably only woke up twice a night, but for about a month now she has been waking up 4,5,even 6 times a night. We have put a night light in her room, lullaby music, and letting her pick a toy to sleep with. We also thought it was her teeth so we give her tylenol and orajel right before she goes to bed at 8 but about midnight she wakes up again. We give her another does of tylenol through the night when she wakes up. We have tried just letting her cry but she just keeps crying and screaming till we go in there with a cup of milk. She's now drinking like 6 half glasses of milk a night because that's all that will put her back to sleep. How can i help her sleep through the night?

  1. First of all you get her addicted to tylenol then you shove milk into her that will rot her teeth.  Good grief!  Stop the milk, you are only enabling the problem and helping her teeth to rot.  Milk has sugars in it and those sugars remain on the teeth at night and rot the teeth, besides she doesn't need the milk at night.  You have to let her scream and cry because she doesn't know how to self soothe, you never allowed her to learn how when she was younger and now it's going to be harder on everyone  because she has to learn something she should have learned by a year old.  Stop the milk, stop the drugs (yes tylenol is a drug and so is oragel) and put up with the screaming and crying because you caused the problem.

  2. 1.  I don't think the Tylenol is working or going to help.

    2.  She might be waking up to pee so much - that is a lot of unnecessary liquids at night.

    3.  How long are you letting her cry?  She is going to keep crying because this reads like you will eventually go in there and give her milk.  First, make sure you aren't giving her milk right before she goes to bed.  I would stop liquids one hour before bed.  Second, let her cry.  She's fine.

  3. dose she have a bed time routine like having supper then bath and then wind down time then to bed in the wind down time my and my little girl read a book and watch a little tv then she go to bed for the hole night
