  1. USE THE RID its fine!!!! I've herd of people useing fuel oil in childrens hair . Make sure u wash everything includeing stuffed animals . They have childrens head lice medicine . Good Luck

  2. i saw online once that dying s childs hair the same color as their own color can kill lice..some expert said it on tv once too..it seemed legit ..but then again dying hair to some people might seem like  a really big deal

  3. you can use rid on the 2 1/2 year olds  head and on everyone else u can use rubbing alcohol it is cheaper and it works

  4. she is old enough for the RID use that and make sure to really use the lice comb to remove the lice and do a recheck to make sure you got it all.  Sometimes it takes more than one time to really get rid of lice depending on how bad it is.  Make sure you let anyone know that might have come into contact so they can be checked as well because Lice can spread fast.

  5. I am absolutely astonished and slightly disturbed at the incredibly misinformed advice being given for this question.

I know exactly what you are going through and some of the people here answering obviously, do not. When my gorgeous niece came home with a dose of head lice from school, we were all quietly horrified, to say the least. We never really expected or were prepared for how much it was going to affect all of our lives.

The ONLY safe way to get rid of head lice permanently is to use a totally natural alternative to the chemical preparations then use prevention methods such as hairspray and tea tree mixed with water in a spray bottle every day to ensure they never return.

You should defiantly stay away from chemical head lice treatments. Before you listen to anyone advising you to use a pesticide treatment please consider the following:

No chemical head lice treatment is legally allowed to be labeled as 'safe' as every insecticide is a poison.

If a lice treatment does not work once it is not going to work twice, in fact the lice that live will breed into a whole new batch that are resistant to that chemical.

Read these articles and try to find a natural remedy containing Neem oil as this renders the lice unable to breed therefore making it impossible for them to build up a resistance.

    Good luck, we've been there.

  6. the very best thing that i found to treat lice was olive oil.. you put it on there and leave it for about an hour then wash it out and not only does it suffocate the lice her hair will be great when done not all poofy like with the lice shampoos leave it. and then there is this lice comb it will take care of all the rest,..i have found that it is best to use the comb on dry hair too cause it will not pull like when it is wet.

  7. Try RID, and wash everything!  Pillows, sheets, vacuum mattresses, etc.  Stuffed animals.  My niece had them as well, and the pharmacist recommended automatically following up with another treatment 9 days after the first one.  Reason being the first one won't kill all the eggs, and at the 9 day mark the eggs have hatched but not reproduced yet.  Otherwise, you will go trough a cycle.  Also get that fine tooth comb, ask the pharmacist for a different kind than what comes with the kit, there is a better one to be bought.  If they keep coming back, the DR can prescribe a treatment, but beware it is really harsh, not sure if it is suitable for a little one of 2.  best wishes!!

  8. You can use Rid or Mayo works to leave it in hair about an hour! Make sure you do everybody in the house or wash all bedding & spray furniture!
