On one hand he will feed him and he always wants to sleep with him at night, but take last night for example, He literally tore my eight year olds tonail completely off. He will only hurt him when noone is looking. Also he pinches himself, chews his nails, and jumps off counter tops. Could this be behavior of ADHD?

  1. It isn't ADHD, but it sounds like a two year old who doesn't know better. You will have to start being strict with him when he's around his big brother so he won't go on to hurt anyone/thing that he considers weaker.

Cutting down on the tv might help too.

  2. This is not ADHD. ADHD is a hyperactive attention disorder. What you are mentioning is a little bit more. By the age of 2 children learn empathy. He bites someone and they cry and he feels bad. Does you older child respond when he is doing this stuff to him? I would call your peds and talk this over with them. He could seriously hurt your other child either intentionally or unintentionally. In the meantime I wouldn't leave them alone.

  3. It is your responsibility to keep the eight year old safe. If you can't you run the risk of CPS involvement. As for the two year old, his behavior is not typical and he needs an evaluation. He may be jealous of the attention you give to the older child, or he might have other problems. Talk to your pediatrician about how to get him evaluated through Early Intervention.

  4. give him treats for being good and tell him to bite himself

  5. this is not adhd

  6. You need to start disciplining your child. If you let him just do whatever he wants then he'lll keep on doing nasty things.  Make him take a time out, or firmly hold his hand and pop his hand and tell him no when he does something bad and he'll learn that nasty behavior is unacceptable and should stop doing it...

  7. Apply the hand to the bottom.
