My daughter was in the hospital with pneumonia for Christmas and NewYears of 2007 and ever since, she will not sleep in her own room. She will wake up shaking and scared. What can I do to get her back to the way she was before the hospital. She always slept by herself since she was 8 weeks old and now she won't even laydown in her own room.

  1. give her night lights, toys to sleep with. try to make her bed as comfortable as possible so shell sleep longer. sit with her until she falls asleep.

  2. Buy her a new born baby doll and crib for her bed room. Play games with her like visiting her in her house, which is her bed room of course. Visiting and coming by to see her new little baby. Soon she will become attached and motherly towards her little baby doll and I am willing to bet she will soon be sleeping with it in her own bed and her own room .

  3. offer a reward for sleeping in her room. say if she does it for a week she gets a barbie. it worked for my best friends little sister. she went to the hospitle with a heart disease and then she wouldnt sleep in her room cause she was scared. but then she got a webkinz every week if she slept in her room by herself. now she wouldnt even think of sleeping in her parents room.

  4. Sleep with her for a little while. She is missing you and scared. Once you get her sleeping PERIOD then work on getting her back to sleeping alone. Hospital stays are always traumatic fr kids and they need extra snuggling and loves after.

  5. buy her a comfort item like a bear or doll that will keep her company when she is scared
