Basically my uncle's computer keeps turning itself off when the computer loads up. It doesn't happen all the time but it happens frequently. Is there a way around this?

  1. This is a symtom of the processor overheating. If the processor fan is not turning, or just not rurning fast enough, the pracessor will get hot and usually the computer will just shutdown. A good indicator of this is that it does not let you know it is going to shut down, and just shuts off in the middle of something without any warning at all. There are some viruses that can do this also.

    If you have anti-virus software installed, I would try

    this: start up the pc/as it is starting press the F8 key a few times untill you see a screen that allows you to select to start up in "safe mode"/use arrow keys to select safe mode and press Enter key/run the antivirus software and scan the entire pc to see if there is a virus/ If there are any prompts that it found any then let the AV pgm delete them. If not it may be the processor fan or the processor itself could be failing.
