Question:

My used 2000 Lincoln Continental came only with one key,whats the cheap alternatives

one of my local lock smiths said he could not make a key for my 2000 lincoln he referred me to the dealer or another locks smith he said it is hard to make an embedded chipped key when there was only one working key available...he talked about prices of $120.00 USD each... ouch whats everyone thoughts on this...thanks lenny

  1. Maybe buy another ignition { with the keys} from a junk yard and have a mechanic put it in for you.


  2. Your 2000 Lincoln Continental is equipped with what's called a PATS key. If you have two working keys, you can program a third, or more keys up to a maximum of eight keys yourself. Failing that, your only option is to have another one cut and programmed at your nearest Ford dealership. Hope this helps.

  3. that is the it ..if the key don;t have the chip, the car will not start..the dealer is you only option.
