My vacuum isnt picking up anything?

this is how it looks like.

the air isnt coming in at the bottom instead its coming in through the side.

is there a way that i can make it start working again,

You have a blockage somewhere.  Look at the users manual and clear the blockage.

Is it new?  If it is, I'd bring it back to the store and have them replace it or fix it.  Has it always worked this way since you got it?  Sounds odd.  Read your instruction manual again.  It sounds to me like you have your hose that attaches to it hooked up wrong.  I have a Hoover upright which is pretty much the same as what you have and yes, the air comes in through the side and that's where the hose attaches to and the other end goes to where the bag goes.  Or,check the belts on the vacuum.  If a belt breaks, it won't work.

The hose is blocked - clear the hose and/or the container/bag that collects the dirt is full - empty it and/or the other filter(s) in the machine are clogged and need to be cleaned.

Without the manual, you are going to have to look for these things.  They generally aren't all that hard to find.

I have the same vac... unscrew the hose... you have something clogged at the top of it....
