Hi, I have a 1987 Ford panel Van, I've been driving it since i brought it 5 months ago. Didn't do any services.

The Van is not working now ( I mean I tired to turn it on but no responses, even it doesn't make any sounds when i turning it on)...

Actually, the van can be turned on before, but just need to start it for so many times.....

Now it can;t even seems working...

Wat'ss Wrong ??? Should it be fixed ?? Worth??

  1. if it make no sound start with battery cable then battery then starter... can you jump start it... and if and when .... a service job and have the charging system check

  2. If you can turn the key on,and you see no lights on your instrument panel, then your battery is the problem, try popping the hood, and looking at the battery,if the cables on top are corroded, try cleaning them, and try it again.

  3. it sounds like elect. problems check the battery terminals for corrosion, then check the starter, if the van is worth fixing that's up to you, 1 starter is cheaper then a car, if you are going to keep it fix

  4. 22 year old van. Not even an oil change in 5 months you really don't like being able to drive do you?  First battery check then alternator check then electrical check. Something as simple as a corroded starter wire at the battery? A dead battery can cause your problems. But if you choose not to maintain your van you will be left with a 3 ton piece of metal.
