My vcr is broken. how to fix?

it keeps eating me tapes up one by one. i only had a couple of good movies and it just ruined 2 of em. what in heck can i do to fix this myself? are there any parts i can find somewhere..

eats tapes... tape transport is dirty. Clean all the transport surfaces with a good trichlorotriflourothene. make sure the sensor lamp still works, these go bad often. clean the heads, but be very careful with the video heads, they scan on a helical scan and can be damaged if cleaned the wrong direction.
