My veggie plants are not blooming. What can I do to promote flowers?

I think I gave my plants too much nitrogen and now they are huge but have no flowers. My squash and cucumbers have no flowers and my beans have had buds for over a week now that won't open. Is there anything that I can give them to promote budding/flowering or to diminish the nitrogen level? I gave them a fish emulsion foliage spray.

  1. you can buy miracle grow of blooming powder to put on the roots of the flower, this should make them bloom

  2. Seaweed is chok full of postassium, which veggie plants need for fruiting/ flowering.

I would look for a "bloom" type of fertilizer, which cuts back on the N, and has more P & K for "blooming".

Stay away from Miracle Grow, as it sounds like you have. That stuff is synthetic, takes forever to break down, and there are so many better options out there, organic or not. :)

The shorter daylight periods, which we will soon see, will also trigger the plants into "bloom" mode, so be patient too. You can't speed up the pre-disposed, genetic encoded thought process of plants.

  3. miracle grow make sure you research about how much sunlight they neeed and u may be over watering them. make sure you are also not over crouding them!

  4. miracle grow for sure. on your beans you need to wait for a long time for it to turn a bit brown-ish. ur cucumbers should be crawling upwards but a bit slanted. ur squashes should be far from the others cuz it needs a lot of space and also it needs its own space because if you put it near other plants it doesn't get enough nutrient from the soil cuz they need to share!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. Buy MiracleGrow,

Spray it on ur plants it does wonders ;D

  6. Miracle Grow
