The 30 day mandatory period is now over and the tow company will not let me have my car unless i pay 980.00 in full. will not take payments. and in 3 days if i can't pay it they say my car will be scraped or auctioned.the gate for the lot is open all day what legal repercussions would i face if i just got in my car and drove it out of the lot

  1. Jail for stealing, Remember you owe, $900 like they couldn't find you.

  2. Since you don't have a license right now, you really don't need your car.  You would be in a lot worse trouble if you tried to get the car that you shouldn't be driving in the first place.

    Edit: Start enjoying public transportation.

I had my driver's license suspended for three weeks, because I had forgotten to renew my insurance and got in a fender bender about 10 years ago.  I did NOT drive my car once in those three weeks.  Reason being is I wanted to keep my car, and not risk losing it.  I used the city bus, walked, rode bike, etc.  I did it, so can everyone else.  The only two times since then I let it slip was when my brother had died.  We got a notice in the mail that it cancelled.  The other time I thought my husband had paid it, and he thought I paid it, but then we got a look at the bill and talked about it.  It was two days overdue.  So we renewed it.

  3. a long time in jail.

    That woudl break several laws.

Pay your debt or give up your car.
