  1. Well, there may be hope. I read in an article recently about some archaeologists discovering some "date seeds" in a cave that were over 2,000 years old. They had to add some hormones and perform a few processes, but they succeeded in planting and growing these date trees that are now extinct. They are still growing from from what I understand, but they are unsure whether these trees will bear any fruit. How awesome would that be? To eat fruit from a tree that hasn't existed in two thousand years! Science is neat : )
