kettlebells, Nothing will make you tougher

  2. i am a middle too.

    i am 5'8'' and a starter to.

i have an amazing vertical that im very thankful for.

but dont get me wrong i have worked my butt of for it

i weight lift 2 times a week and do my apporach at a piece of tape on my wall....

i suggest you do the same.

weightlift 2 times a week or 3 if you are really trying to get it up fast. and do you approach and just jump 100 times or more a day. it will help you tons.

  3. if you have lots of block, that means your fine. since you're really set on increasing your vert, try swing blocking, squats, wall sits, block jumps, wear ankle weights (but not at practice or games it'll throw off your timing so wear them and go running), etc. blocking isn't really all about height, it's about placement of the block. that is how you block somebody. if plenty of people are hitting over you, then you need a bigger vert

  4. Squats, lunges, and wall sits along with calf raises will help build your calf muscles.

But that might not be the case you may not be bringing your arms all the way down to help you get the momentum to help you jump.

As practice when you are blocking bring your arms down to your ankles and then spring up into action.

    good luck!

  5. im sorry but its not a wind breaker read the description

  6. well im a middle too but im only 5'5. what i do to get high verticle jumps is do squats with like 40lbs. it really helps. im only 12 and i hope to play volleyball forever. that really helped me and i hope it helps you!!!

  7. ????????????????????????????????????????...

  8. Squats. Lots of 'em.

  9. i'm a middle blocker too! but i'm 6'1 and i'm 14 so i never really had this problem. but i always want to improve. i looove volleyball and been playing it since 4th grade.. so i knoww about things. but lift weights about 40 or 50 lbs. and wear ankle weights in practice they really help:)

    hope this helps:D

  10. if it's not too late, i highly recommend High Jump in track!

  11. I would talk to one of the following people:

Barry Bonds, Jason Giambi, Jose Canseco, Mark McGuire, or Roger Clemens.

They would probably have some good ideas.

  12. You need to put ankle weights on and jump around your house...if you do this often enough your vertical will increase...mine did, just make sure you increase the weight if is gets too easy

  13. I was a middle in HS before playing Outside in college, I recommend getting your vert up, especially if you want to play at the next level.  Plyometric training is the way to go, I developed my hops through this and training on the beach, I am sure you can put together a good program get a workout partner and train year round, play on the beach as well.  Make sure if you are training hard and you start to get some soreness in your knees you start taking some time off, eat well and ice em down as well.  Tendinitis is real problem for good leapers it was brutal for me during my sophomore year in college.

Make sure you also work on your passing and setting skills too cuz with your size you should be playing another position at some point.

  14. PLyometrics!! i've been doing it for six weeks and it's already increased my vertical by six inches!!! it's worth your time!!

I'm a short middle too!! only 5'8" which is small for a middle
