  1. Give him a hug

  2. you should give him  a class picture signed everybody or  a picture of u signed by u

  3. As a teacher myself, I would say that doing something that would show him how well you mastered something he taught you  would be the best gift ever.  All teachers rejoice in this and makes us very proud. Examples are, a poem, a short story, a piece of individualized Art. I don't know what he taught you but this is just an idea.

  4. Vanessa, it would be inappropriate to give him a present. Even the Royal family of England have a restriction of a fifty pounds limit on any present that somebody may wish to give to them.

But there are two things that you can do that would mean a lot for him. The first is for you to excel at your studies. As a tribute to him, if you like.

As for the second, I would presume that he is moving to Africa (Africa is a name and so has a capital A in spelling it correctly) to participate in teaching disadvantaged children. Give a hand to help those children by rounding up pencils and paper that you could ask your school to onsend. Get your friends involved to put in a couple of pencils and some paper. A lot of paper is only used on one side. That is perfectly wonderful material for the African school to have to give to the children to practice writing and do elementary calculations upon.

You can get your friends to ask their friends for the same. Before you know it, you will have the whole school on your side.

This could spread on to school to school. You will be able to provide so much help for that one school that all their requirements in this sphere will be met and then they can help other schools. And all from pencils and paper that ordinary people might just want to throw away.

Not only would that mean a lot to your teacher, but it would be something that the whole country would be proud of you for starting.

But this is a lot of work. Share it out and do not neglect your own studies and perhaps you, too, may one day be a teacher doing a volunteer effort in Africa.

    God bless you.

  5. Keep in mind that if he is moving to Africa,  he won't want to bring bulky or heavy things with him.  The best thing you could give him would  be a really nice note thanking him for all he did for you.  I also like Sol's suggestion of a piece of work related to what you learned in class.

While Nysenutz' suggestion is generous, he is making some assumptions that may not be true (not everyone in Africa is underprivileged, and I've known a number of teachers who went there to teach ex-pats), and I would be afraid that it would cost him more to transport used paper than it would cost to buy new!

  6. A box of Immodium.
