  1. Why would he say it if he didn't think it was true? What has he to gain from lying to you?

If he laughed when he said it though then he might have been taking the p!ss.

  2. I would take it very seriously.

As a vice principal, it's likely that he has one as well. He would know, having gone through the process, whether or not you are capable of it.

Additionally, his job as an educational administrator is to motivate you, but not to lie to you.

Take him seriously, and work toward the goal if its something you want!

  3. He was probably very serious. Time is going to tick by. Stay in school. Study. Enjoy life and you can achieve anything you want.

  4. It isn't being smart enough that is rare, it is being persistent, having a vision, and consistently following goals.  You must have the character and personality traits, as well as intelligence and very good grades.

  5. I'm pretty sure that he is being honest, because a true vice principal or guidance council should be honest if he/she wanted to help their students. I would take it as a complement and take it seriously.

Of course, if he was sounding sarcastic or laughing, I wouldn't take it seriously, but I would take it into consideration just to rub it in his face. ^^
