My video camera has lines accross the display?

my video camera has lines across the display? but only when i play back (tried dif tapes, same thing) but its works when when i just record?

any ideas?

It sounds like the heads on your camera are dirty. You need to get a head cleaning tape for your camera. The tape will clean the heads in your camera. The heads in your camera is what the tape runs on. If the heads are dirty lines will appear. I am assuming that you are using a MiniDV camera. I have included a link to a head cleaning tape. I am film/video guy. I have had this problem before and it was my camera's heads.
