I know it kills battery, but i would like to know how to set my laptop to run at full power even when it is unplugged from ac power. I have already addressed the issue of my processor power being cut in half when it isn't plugged, by using a third party program. Does anyone know of anything like this for your video card.

  1. If there is a dedicated power center utility, use it otherwise, control panel, power options. In there, set everything to "never" (rather than "go into standby/hibernate/power off mode after 10 mins of inactivity").

Your video card utilities may have something similar. Since you didn't mention what card you have, I can't look up the specs.

If your laptop is unplugged with these settings, don't be surprised when you go from "fully charged" to "10% left, plug in your power cord NOW!) in an hour or less.

    Good luck
